Due to unfortunate circumstances, Weeks isn’t able to join us. Her husband and co-creator, Bill Kerr, is joining us instead. Bill is an equally expert quilter and instructor. We are excited to learn from him and are sending Weeks wishes for speedy healing.
You’ll learn to analyze and understand fabrics then apply what you’ve learned to create palettes for future projects. Learn how a variety of illustration styles, scales and patterns in fabric make for a more interesting quilt while expanding the range of fabrics you can use with confidence.
Student supplies needed: Rotary cutting equipment, journal or sketchbook, glue stick, a wide assortment of cotton quilting fabrics from tone-on-tones, solids, plaids, batiks and hand-dyes to large-scale prints. Also bring fabrics that you love but have perplexed you.
Note: This class is a no-sew workshop. It is about the process of understanding and selecting fabrics. Students can document palettes they create by gluing swatches in journals.
