Monthly Meeting: Negative Space Challenge

May 8 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Discover the Power of Negative Space at Our May 8th Meeting!

Join us on May 8th for an inspiring evening as our talented KCMQG members showcase their Negative Space Challenge mini quilts! This is your chance to see how quilters have embraced the challenge, using bold expanses of fabric, intricate quilting textures, and unexpected layouts to transform “empty” space into a striking design element.

Members are invited to create a mini quilt (24″ x 24″ max) that highlights negative space in a unique way. Whether you go for modern minimalism, high-contrast drama, or delicate quilting details, we can’t wait to see your interpretation!  Attendees in person and on Zoom will have an opportunity to share their quilts.  If you would like to have your mini quilt featured at the Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival in the KCMQG Negative Space exhibit, you can leave your mini with Kelly Hubka after the meeting.  There will be additional opportunities to deliver your quilt for inclusion in our KCRQF exhibit, so stay tuned for those details.

Mark your calendars, get inspired, and join us for an evening of creativity and conversation. See you there!
