On July 29, we will gather to sew all our string blocks into quilts. The event will be held at KC Maker Studio from 9-4. There is no charge for this event but we ask you to please sign up on the website for this event so we know who to expect. Hope to see you there!
We anticipate that we will have enough blocks to make 8-10 quilts. It all depends on how many blocks we collect through July. If we work together with 2-3 people working on one quilt, they should go together pretty quickly. Bring your sewing machine and basic supplies. If you would like to make pillowcases, bring 3/4 yd of main fabric and 1/4 of a coordinating fabric (or purchase some cute fabric from the quilt shop). There will also be strings and foundations available to make more string blocks if we have time.
We have several people that have volunteered to quilt and bind our quilts. Volunteers who are at the Sew Day will be able to take a quilt with backing and batting home with them. For the rest, we will have them to distribute at the August guild meeting. Backings and batting have been donated.
