I used 1″ Drunkard’s Path blocks in the wings, and appliqued Drunkard’s Path blocks for the head and chest. Quilted with big stitch hand quilting. Inspired by art by Scott Partridge.

My first modern wonky drunkard’s path quilt, I had fun making it as wonky as possible! However my machine gave up on me during the challenge and I had to use an old machine for quilting which ruined the quilt.

This is my first drunkard’s path quilt. I enjoyed all the colors. This was inspired by a black and white quilt with circular flowers.
From the fat eight bundle of PB&J fabrics, I chose the most saturated colors to distribute across a large amount of white negative space for contrast. To add some texture and movement, I hand-stitched chunky black thread throughout the composition.
This is my first Guild Challenge as well as the first quilt I designed myself. It was a lot of fun! It is 100% machine stitched. I free motion quilted it as well.

Because that is where drunkard-ness might land you!!! Not judging – just funning with you. a 13×13 piece with seven 1 inch curvelets added in. The bars are in the quilting in a contrasting thread.
So many firsts for me here: 1st challenge, 1st original design, 1st curves and 1st quilting. The designs was inspired by @francois_bonnel_artwork (instagram). So happy to stepped outside my comfort zone with this.
Traditional Drunkard’s Path pattern created by using Sew Wonderful Quick curve ruler in my own modified manner. My goal was to utilize only the fabric provided to create a sense of light dimension by strategic placement of color.
