Repurpose vintage or unused quilts into a super-chic one-of-a-kind coat. The Chateau is a loose-fitting, open front coat. We will be making the bound version with patch pockets. This project is suitable for advanced beginner or above sewists.
Supplies List:
- Chateau Coat Pattern by The Sewing Workshop
- Quilt or quilts large enough to cover the yardage required for your size (see size/yardage requirements on the pattern.
- Knit fabric for binding – see size/yardage requirements on pattern.
- Coordinating Thread
- Sewing Machine and supplies (rotary cutter, cutting mat, scissors, pins, etc.)
Before class:
Cut out the paper pattern in your size. Cut and create the binding for the jacket. Instructions are included in the pattern – we will be making the single binding.
We will observe a one hour lunch break. Please bring a lunch. Or if you prefer – we will take orders for a local restaurant. Each participant is responsible for their own meal. Water will be provided.
