Each year our guild participates in the QuiltCon community outreach challenge. We design, create, and exhibit an original quilt at the Quiltcon national modern quilt show in February. The theme for the 2024 challenge is “symmetry” and the color palette is shown above. The KCMQG goal for the 2024 challenge is to maximize the participation of as many of our members as possible. In the design and create stage of the project, members will be provided with 2 colors of fabric, and are asked to create two, six-inch blocks. You will use the same pattern for each block, but reverse the colorway from one block to the next. If we have 75 members each make two blocks, then we will have enough for a completely unique quilt. Fabrics and full instructions will be available for hand-out at the July 13 guild meeting. Please contact Nikki Woolsey with any questions.
