Temperature Quilt Get to Know Ya

November 12, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Temperature quilts have been showing up everywhere from our social media feeds and magazine articles, to a special exhibit at QuiltCon 2022, and a workshop at the upcoming MQG Sessions. These quilts are usually where you choose different colors to represent different ranges of temperature and make a block each day to represent the high and the low of that day. Some quilters track a particular year of importance to the quilter and others track the current calendar year. Join in on a group of KCMQG members for a Zoom meeting Saturday, November 12 at 2pm. Laurel Carty will lead us as we learn all about this quilt concept and form a sew along group for 2023. You will learn how to find free patterns or create your own and where to get temperatures. We’ll discuss lessons and words of advice from others who have made one, or started and not completed one. You will learn organization tips and tricks and find out what to do if you get behind. Many say the main key is to not think of how you have to make a block every single day but think of it as a block of the month and bulk your tasks. We connect virtually each month in 2023 to cheer each other on and celebrate our progress. Can’t participate on November 12 but want the resource guide and to join the 2023 sew along group, contact Laurel Carty.
