This week, we’d like to feature one of our own members: Carla of Lollyquiltz who did a fabulous modern take on the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt.

Carla began work on this quilt in June of 2011. She and her friend Cindy participated in the Farmer’s Wife Quilt Along with the goal of doing 2 blocks a week, 111 blocks total. Carla blogged as she went along, and even went into detail with the letters and back story that was part of the Farmer’s Wife book.
These are the first two blocks Carla made:

And this is the very last block she made to complete her sampler:

Carla set her blocks in white.

She backed it in white sateen, and had a long-arm quilter named Lynne Harbour quilt it.

Carla’s work on this quilt is simply astounding. She took a phenomenal quilt pattern and made it modern with her choice of fabrics and colors. Her journey begins here, if you’d like to read up on it. And her final post is here.
Thanks for sharing, Carla!
