Did you know there was an international symbol for modern quilters? Well, maybe not yet, but this would be a good one. This was the sign to direct us to Jacquie’s house for the KC MQG’s Quilty Day in the Country. Almost half of our members (I counted almost 40) braved the hottest day of the summer and a long drive out of the city to attend the event. And when I say hot, I’m mean sweltering, temperature over 100 and the humidity put the heat index off the charts.
We had a little show and tell, ate some great food, talked quilting and Jacquie shared some of her ‘extra’ fabric. It was fun not to have an agenda and to be able to relax in a somewhat smaller group.
Despite the heat, we had a great event! We’re definitely planning another social event soon.
If you took pictures, email them to Jacquie and we’ll add them to the post!
