We are holding off on our regular Inspiration of the Week post in hopes that you’ve found some inspiration with all of the Fractal Radiance Quilts this week. We’d like to express our gratitude to all of our members and friends who worked together to make this pattern set a reality.

Design Contest Participants – This all started earlier in the year with a design contest and we had quite a few very talented members submit designs. It made for a very difficult selection process! Thank you for sharing your ideas with us.

Design – We are so grateful to Katie for not only creating a winning design and quilt but for also offering to include the pillow pattern. Katie was a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. Take a look at Katie’s post about Fractal Radiance and see some gorgeous photos of the first pillow she made.

FabricRobert Kaufman Fabrics generously donated all of the Kona Solid Cotton fabric needed for Paula to test this large quilt. They have such an amazing amount of beautiful colors available. I don’t know how Paula chose those 19 colors! It’s definitely a great quilt pattern to include all of your favorites.

Pattern TestersPaula, Mary, Lesley, and Melissa all tested quilts and/or pillows. We wanted to ensure success for every person that used the patterns so each was made and checked for accuracy three times!

QuiltingPaula, Denise, Mary, and Katie showed off their fabulous quilting skills and made it possible for us to get photos of finished quilts to share.

Photography – Sarah Sorrell let us squeeze into another photo shoot she had already lined up and photographed the beautiful cover and detail shots on Katie’s quilt. Douglas Carr was such a good sport and helped lug quilts along a trail at Lenexa Lake to take fantastic shots of all the other quilts. He was able to capture Denise and Mary’s quilting in such great detail!

PDF PatternShea was able to use her pattern making experience to work closely with Katie to create the downloadable PDF. She was a fantastic support through this whole experience!

Technical EverythingSarah wowed us all with her Technical Editing expertise to fine tune the smallest details of the pattern and then was able to work her magic on the website to make it possible for everyone to download and pay for the pattern. She watermarked photos, wrote blog posts, kept our membership posted on Facebook and so much more!

DetailsMarilyn, Denise, Sarah, and Lesley worked hard all along this process from choosing the pattern design winner to the the very last detail before during the launch to make sure this pattern was the best it could be.

Fabric BundlesTammy agreed to offer bundles of fabric through her online shop to make shopping for this pattern easier. Bundles from Marmalade Fabrics are ready to go.

Member Enthusiasm – We are probably a bit biased but we think we have the most fabulous guild members ever! They’ve been patient and enthusiastic about this pattern from the very beginning and have continued to encourage testers and inspire us with their talent month after month. I’m sure some of them will put their own creative spin on this pattern and we can’t wait to see what they come up with. Our member blogs are listed here. I wouldn’t be surprised if you see some Fractal Radiance quilts show up there.

Thank you all!
