How can you make a square out of a circle?

That’s the idea behind the Solid Science quilt that Jo of Bearpaw made. Jo was watching the Royal Institute’s science show one day and that particular line stuck in her head. “That would be a great quilt….” she thought.

So, when she chose to make a mini quilt for a flickr swap, that’s what she decided to do!

This quilt, requiring some serious curved piecing, is a work of scientific art! And then, to top it off, she went and hand-quilted the entire thing in tiny concentric circles.

It’s simply astounding. We hope her swap partner loves it, because we sure do!
