Hello KCMQG members! Our meeting this month is just a week away! We will be meeting next Thursday, January 14th at 7pm at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center. Please note this is not the Kauffman Performing Arts Center. The meeting is at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center which is located at 4801 Rockhill Road, Kansas City, MO 64110.
PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE BYLAWS The proposed changes to the bylaws can be found in the attached PDF. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email us at guild account (kcmodernquiltguild@gmail.com) and someone on the officer team will try to answer your questions. These will be voted on at the January meeting next week.
OFFICER TEAM & COMMITTEE CHAIRS There will be opportunities to become a committee chair or a member of the board in 2016. If you are interested in becoming a leader within the guild, please let us know! Please reach out to us at the guild email account ([email protected]) for more information.
CHALLENGES Our next challenge, the KC Arts Challenge, will be presented at the January meeting. If you aren’t able to attend, check the meeting recap following the meeting for the details. The due date for this challenge will be the April guild meeting.
WORKSHOPS Trisch Price will be doing a workshop with us for her Show and Tell Bag. It will be held at the Roeland Park Community Center in Room 6 on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 10am until 5pm. The cost is $40. If you’d like to sign up, visit this link.
RETREATS Winter Retreat January 22-24, 2016 at Sew Sweet Quilt Shop in Brunswick, MO. Price is $105 without dinners (breakfasts included) or $135 with dinners (and breakfast also included). Lunches are not provided. Retreat runs from 10am on January 22nd until noon on January 24th. If you’d like to join the wait list, use this is the link to register. Spring Retreat April 8-10, 2016 at Missouri Star Quilt Company in Hamilton, Missouri. Details and sign-ups to come in January.
