Hello KCMQG! Our June meeting is right around the corner- this Thursday, June 9th! We will be at Roeland Park Community Center and Kelsey Pike is our guest speaker!

Location: Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood Drive, Roeland Park KS, 66205 You can find out more about Kelsey, her design, and her process on her website.

Modern Makers will be hosting the meeting, and will be selling fabric (lots and lots of fabric!) before the meeting and during break.

Please feel free to bring snacks to share, as well!   SWAPS Please bring your finished projects to our June meeting to go back to St. Louis! We will have our swap projects and partners revealed at the August meeting. If you have any questions (or need to get your block to turned in outside of the meeting), please contact Nicole Moore through your member email.

Attached is the return form to include with your project. Please print it out, and add it with your project in a sealed bag with your swap partner’s name on the bag.

See if you catch a sneak of what you’re partner is making you by checking out #i70swap

RECAPS
Guild Resource Page
We are adding a guild resource page to the website. Once a year we will update the page to represent creative offerings within our guild members – long armers, fabric shops, etc.
This page will be updated annually in May. Wednesday Share Day on Facebook will continue to be our location to announce sales and other community events.    Since this is new, we are still collecting names and links! To add your creative business to this page, please fill out this form.
Social Media
Our social media presence has expanded! In addition to our members only Facebook page and Flickr, where we feature Show and Tell, we are on Twitter and Instagram. Both will allow us to be more involved in the quilting community and other MQGs, and Instagram will be additionally used to show off the work of our guild members. Our Twitter handle is @KCModernQG and Instagram is @KCMQG.
We will only repost Instagram pictures with permission from the original photo owner.

Sewing Machine Raffle
Myron Schwery of Bernina/Windmill Sewing Center generously donated a Brother Sewing Machine (valued at close to $900) to our guild! His expressed purpose was for us to use it as a fundraiser to benefit the guild.
We will be conducting raffle, with the proceeds of ticket sales being used for a guild quilt show. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased here. We hope Myron will be present to draw the winning ticket at the September meeting.
The more virtual tickets you purchase, the more opportunities you have to win. You do not have to be present to win.
We will bring the sewing machine to the June meeting for everyone to check it out.
